This detail page shows several photos of the book to show what a first edition looks like.  The images are original photos taken of my personal copy of the first edition book. 

Too Many Cooks (1938):

• The first edition is red cloth with black lettering on the cover and spine.
• The Farrar & Rinehart (FR) colophon on the copyright page. 
• There is a color map on the inside front cover. 
• The price ($2.00) is on the top of the front flap of the dustjacket.
• The books look the same except the book club edition does not have the colophon on the copyright page.
• I have included an animated GIF file that compares many of the relevant points for a clearer understanding.
